Green Onions

Stock

Holy Trinity

Flour

Seasonings

Butter

Wash and pat dry the shrimp then season well. Set aside.

Add butter to a heavy bottomed pot and melt.

Add holy trinity of onion, bell pepper and celery and smother down.

Add seasoned shrimp and garlic and continue to smother down.

The French Word 'Etouffee' actually means to smother!

Add Flour and continue to cook down.

Add all the seasonings.

Add stock or broth and stir well. Bring to a boil and then turn down to simmer for a few.

Serve immediately with boiled rice for a delicious New Orleans classic full of Cajun seasoning!
