Smoked Asparagus

Asparagus spears are such a versatile vegetable - yet cooking them on the smoker really gives it the best flavor. Simple ingredients and hands-off cooking on the smoker makes this one of my favorite side dishes.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb Asparagus Spears trimmed
  • 2 Tablespoons Avocado Oil
  • 3 Garlic Cloves minced
  • ½ Teaspoon Sea Salt
  • ½ Teaspoon Fresh Cracked Black Pepper
  • Lemon Wedges for serving

Instructions

  • Wash then Trim the ends of the asparagus (where the purple usually is).
  • Make a tray with edges for holding the asparagus spears.
  • Drizzle the oil over the asparagus spears and add the chopped garlic. Mix together with your hands to make sure the asparagus spears are all evenly coated.
  • Sprinkle the salt and pepper then add to the smoker preheated to 250°F. Cook for 50 minutes, tossing half way through the cooking time.
  • Remove and serve with lemon wedges - for the individual to add lemon juice to their own serving.
