Halloween Chocolate Covered Strawberries are a really cute way to dress up some strawberries for Halloween. Simply dipped in melted chocolate, or candy melts and a little decorating you have a really cute Halloween treat.

2PoundsFresh Strawberries
7OuncesWhite Candy Melting Wafers
4OuncesGreen Candy Melting Wafers
4OuncesOrange Candy Melting Wafers
28EachCandy Eyes
1EachBlack Food Marker
3teaspoonsVegetable Shortening
Instructions
Wash and dry the strawberries.
2 Pounds Fresh Strawberries
Add the white candy melts to a cup and microwave at 50% power in 30 second intervals, stirring in between.
7 Ounces White Candy Melting Wafers
Add 1 teaspoon of shortening and keep stirring until you get a good dippable consistency.
3 teaspoons Vegetable Shortening
Dip some of the strawberries into the white melted candy then set on a baking sheet lined with wax paper.
Continue until you have about 12 strawberries done. Drizzle the remaining white melted candy to make bandage lines, add 2 candy eyes to each strawberry.

Rrepeat the candy melting procedure for the orange candy then dip about 12 strawberries, laying out on the wax paper.
4 Ounces Orange Candy Melting Wafers
Repeat again for the green candy melts.
4 Ounces Green Candy Melting Wafers
Using your black food grade marker (or gel icing) decorate the orange strawberries like jack-o-lanterns and the green strawberries as Frankensteins.
1 Each Black Food Marker
Once finished store in the refrigerator.
Notes
Add more shortening if you need to thin the melted candy more. Add a teaspoon at a time and stir well.
