Ingredients

  • 2 Pounds Ground Beef
  • 4 Pounds Yellow Potatoes peeled and sliced
  • 12 Ounces Sharp Cheddar Cheese grated
  • 1 (12 Ounce) Can Evaporated Milk
  • 2 (10.5 Ounce) Cans Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • 2 teaspoons All Purpose Seasoning

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a 13x9" Casserole Dish well.
  • Brown the ground meat in a skillet over medium-high heat.
    2 Pounds Ground Beef
  • Add a layer of potato slices on the bottom of the casserole dish and season with ⅓ of the seasoning.
    4 Pounds Yellow Potatoes
  • Sprinkle ⅓ of the cheese over the top of the potatoes.
  • Sprinkle ⅓ of the ground meat, then repeat with another 2 layers.
12 Ounces Sharp Cheddar Cheese, 2 teaspoons All Purpose Seasoning
  • Mix the soup and evaporated milk with a whisk then pour over the layered ingredients. Lift with a fork here and there to allow the mixture to fall in-between the layers.
1 (12 Ounce) Can Evaporated Milk, 2 (10.5 Ounce) Cans Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • Sprinkle with a little more cheese over the top.
  • Grease a piece of aluminum foil then cover the hamburger potato casserole.
  • Bake in the oven for 1 hour.
  • Remove the foil and bake a further 30 minutes.
  • Take out of the oven and allow to sit for 10-15 minutes before serving.

Notes

After pouring the soup mixture over the ingredients it should fall and work it's way between the layers. You can help it with a fork though. You could also mix it before-hand and spoon between the layers as you're building the casserole.
Make it even more hamburger-like and dress with lettuce, pickles, tomatoes and onions (if your family likes that).
