  • Using a cooked chicken really speeds things up, but cooking in the crock pot allows enough time for the ingredients to marry together nicely.
  • An inexpensive recipe that stretches far, which is great in today's economy.

Recipe variations and substitute ideas

  • Green Beans - a delicious addition.
  • Boneless Skinless Chicken Breasts - instead of the rotisserie chicken, or chicken thighs.
  • Cheddar Cheese - use instead of the colby jack.
  • Baby Carrots - a delicious addition.
  • Egg Noodles - instead of the spaghetti (or any noodles).
  • Sour Cream - gives a little more richness.
  • Pork Chops - instead of the chicken.
  • Garlic Powder - adds a little hint of garlic flavor.
  • Parmesan Cheese - top with a sprinkle of this.
  • Cream of Mushroom Soup - this can be a good change up.

How to store leftovers

Once the crock pot ranch chicken spaghetti has cooled completely store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.

Mel's kitchen notes

You could use fresh chicken if you prefer. Add to the crock pot with the soup, broth, cream cheese and ranch then cook 6 hours (instead of 4). Shred the chicken before moving onto the next steps.

Frequently asked questions: FAQs

Can this recipe be cooked in the oven instead?

Definitely. For busy nights, take the chicken, soup, broth, ranch, cream cheese, cooked spaghetti and bake in the oven for about 45 minutes at 350°F. Top with the remaining cheese, bacon and green onions at the end.

Is this the same as Crack Chicken?

Pretty much. The ingredients known to make crack chicken is chicken (naturally), ranch, bacon and cheese. The main ingredients in this dish. You could call it crack chicken spaghetti.
