Recipe variations and substitute ideas
- Use Smoked Sausage: Smoked sausage or Andouille sausage gives the dish a deeper, smoky flavor that pairs perfectly with the Cajun seasoning.
- Adjust Spices to Taste: If you like it spicier, add extra Cajun seasoning or a pinch of cayenne pepper.
- Add More Veggies: Feel free to add other veggies like cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, or asparagus to make the dish even heartier.
- Add Chicken for more protein: Use small chunks of chicken instead of shrimp, for your protein.
- Don’t Overcook the Shrimp: Shrimp cooks quickly, so be sure to keep an eye on them to avoid tough, rubbery shrimp.
