Air Fryer Ranch Chicken Wings are the perfect game day food, they're easy to prepare, take no time to make and everyone absolutely loves them. Crispy outside while still nice and soft and moist inside. The ranch flavor on the skin is out of this world.
As mentioned before game day, Superbowl time, parties in general, chicken wings are the perfect go-to as an option for the party table.
You could make a huge plate of these wings with some dip and celery sticks and you wouldn't even need to make anything else. Everyone will eat so many wings because they're so good....

What makes this recipe so yummy
- It's quick, easy and fuss free.
- Using an air fryer is a healthier alternative to frying and makes the best wings.
- They taste like they've been in the deep fryer.
Groceries you'll need: Ingredients
- Chicken Wings (flats and drumettes)
- Ranch Seasoning Mix
- Creole Seasoning
See recipe card at the bottom of this post for quantities.
Recipe walkthrough: Instructions
This is an overview of the recipe steps. For more detailed instructions visit the recipe card at the bottom of this post.
- Step 1: Preheat the air fryer to 360°F.
- Step 2: Pat the wings dry with some paper towel then season with the Creole Seasoning.
- Step 3: Toss ¾ of the ranch dressing all over the wings and make sure they're all evenly coated with this dry rub. Get your hands into the mixing bowl there if you need to.
- Step 4: Spray the air fryer basket of the air fryer, position the wings in a single layer and cook for 20 minutes. The cooking time might vary depending on your air fryer.
- Step 5: Flip the wings and turn up the air fryer to 400°F. Cook for a further 10 minutes. Internal temperature should be 165°F.
- Step 6: Remove from the air fryer (they'll be a nice golden brown) and sprinkle the remaining ranch dressing all over.
- Step 7: Serve with a ranch dip (or your favorite sauce) and celery sticks.
Hint: I like to let the Creole seasoning sit on the chicken wings first for a while and warm up to room temperature first. (30 minutes). Then add the Ranch seasoning before putting in the air fryer.
You may need to fry in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
Recipe variations and substitute ideas

- Green Onions - add some chopped green onion (for decoration).
- Garlic Powder - add a touch of garlic powder if you like a more garlicky flavor.
- Onion Powder - as above.
- Homemade Ranch Seasoning - make your own seasoning.

The air fryer I use is the Instant Vortex (by the same makers of Instant Pot). I love it and would recommend it to anyone.
This air fryer makes the crispiest wings.
However, you can still make crispy wings in the oven, lay out the wings on a wire rack on a cookie sheet and bake in the oven.

How to store leftovers
Once the air fryer ranch wings have cooled completely store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
To reheat the wings, allow to warm to room temperature then warm them up in the air fryer again, for best results.
Mel's kitchen notes
Spray the wings with a little cooking spray for some extra crispy chicken wings. You shouldn't need much though as the skin already has extra moisture.
Frequently asked questions: FAQs
It depends on the temperature you set it to. At 360°F like I cook them at they cook in 30 minutes (with a little added hot temp at the end).
Definitely after. Cook the wings to crispy first then add your favorite sauce.
You are probably not setting your air fryer hot enough, or drying the wings properly.
