Fried bowtie pasta is a simple, crispy and delicious way to spice up a bowl of dip. They're the perfect bite-size tasty surprise that are coated in parmesan crusted breadcrumbs and Creole seasoning for a crunchy snack.

The first time I came across these tasty little morsels at Copelands of New Orleans, a famous chain of restaurants in Louisiana.
They serve these with a yummy spinach artichoke dip. I wanted to make these to go with my Crawfish Dip though, they're perfect for any favorite dip.

- Step 2: Place pasta on a tray with paper towels to dry and pat dry with more paper towels.

- Step 4: Add cream and eggs to one large mixing bowl and add the breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese and Creole seasoning to another. Mix well.

- Step 5: Dredge the floured pasta through the cream and egg mixture then the breadcrumb mixture. Repeat until all pasta has been coated.
- Step 6: Deep fry (in batches) in 350°F oil for a few minutes, until a deep golden brown.
- Step 7: Using a slotted spoon remove from the hot oil and place on a baking sheet lined with paper towels in a single layer, to drain.

Hint: Make sure to fry in batches so that the temperature of the oil doesn't drop too much, also it ensures the pasta doesn't stick together while frying.

- Seasoned Breadcrumbs - instead of plain bread crumbs you could use Italian seasoning type.
- Sour Cream - use sour cream in place of the heavy cream for a deeper flavor.
- Black Pepper - try adding to the seasoning.
- Italian Dressing - Instead of a cream and egg mixture to dredge try using Italian dressing instead.
- Taco Seasoning - give these bow ties a Mexican flavor and use Taco seasoning instead.

Necessary gear: Equipment
I use my Dutch Oven for frying, as it can be a nice even heat. It's great for frying. You could use an electric fryer though if you prefer.

How to store leftovers
Store in an airtight container with a little paper towel to avoid moisture, store in the refrigerator. To reheat, I have found best results using an air fryer. Or you could use an oven at a high temperature for a few minutes.

Similar to this recipe, prepare the pasta exactly the same as the cooking process above. Heat your air fryer to 400°F, spray the basket with cooking spray first then spray the coated noodles a little. Air fry for 5 minutes for perfect little air fryer pasta chips.
