  • Step 5: Bake cheese bread in a preheated oven for 15 minutes.
  • Step 6: Slice into stick rectangles using a pizza wheel, and serve.

Hint: Place the baking sheet on a rack that's at the bottom of your oven. It'll make sure the crust gets nice and crispy edges.

Recipe variations and substitute ideas

  • Olive Oil - instead of ranch dressing.
  • Garlic Butter - instead of ranch.
  • Romano Cheese - instead of parmesan.
  • Marinara Sauce - as the sauce.
  • Italian Dressing - Italian salad dressing instead of ranch.
  • Italian Cheese Blend - you could use the prepackaged shredded blend of cheeses.
  • Monterey Jack Cheese - this is another favorite cheese.
  • Asiago Cheese - instead of parmesan.
  • French Bread - instead of the canned pizza dough - although it won't be very Italian then, lol.

How to store leftovers

It can sit at room temperature for a few hours, but then store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. To reheat I recommend using the air fryer if you have one. It makes heating up pizza and breadsticks perfect!

This Italian cheese bread will freeze well, so store in a freeze safe container and freeze for up to 6 months.

Mel's kitchen notes
