🥣 Instructions
This is an overview of the recipe steps. For more detailed instructions visit the recipe card at the bottom of this post.
- Step 1: Cut the doughnuts up into 6 (bite-size pieces). Add to a 9x13" greased baking dish.
- Step 2: In a large bowl, mix the milk, eggs, brown sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt and condensed milk. Mix well with a whisk.
- Step 3: Pour this custard mixture over the top of donuts.
- Step 4: Press down with the back of a spoon to make sure all doughnut pieces have been soaked in the custard mixture. Allow to soak for about 30 minutes. Bake in a preheated oven for 40-45 minutes.
- Step 5: Add butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar and vanilla extract to a small pot and apply medium heat.
- Step 6: Mix well with a whisk. Once all granules have melted, cut a slice of the bread pudding then pour a little of this warm sauce over the top.
Hint: The staler the doughnuts the better. Of course, not to the point that it starts to grow stuff, but a good 3 days is great!
