Did you know that in Korea and the Philippines they had a special McDonald's meal celebrating the boyband 'BTS' for a short while? Included was a McDonald's Cajun Sauce that was bold, creamy and downright addictive - and now you can make it right at home in just 5 minutes!
It was released in Korea back in 2021 for a limited time, as part of the BTS Meal. (You know, that South Korean boy band.... they had a whole McDonald's meal named after them).
It's not available any more, but fans really loved it for its smoky, spicy, tangy flavor. This homemade McDonald's Cajun Sauce recipe tastes just like the real deal - maybe even better.

What makes this recipe so yummy
It's got that bold Cajun flavor McDonald's made famous during the BTS Meal in Korea and the Philippines, with a rich base of mayonnaise, mustard and ketchup that gives it that fast-food style taste we all crave.
It's thick, zesty and perfect for chicken nuggets (McNuggets), fries or burgers - a spicy kick just like the original McDonald's Cajun dipping sauce. And the best part? You can make it at home in just 5 minutes with simple pantry ingredients.
Groceries you'll need: Ingredients
- Mayonnaise - The creamy base that makes the sauce rich and smooth.
- Mustard & Ketchup - Classic combo for tang and color.
- Cayenne and Hot Sauce - Brings the heat just like the Korean version.
- Honey - Balances the spice with a touch of sweetness.
- Nutritional Yeast - The secret ingredient that gives it that umami, almost cheesy depth.
See recipe card at the bottom of this post for quantities.
Recipe walkthrough: Instructions
This is an overview of the recipe steps. For more detailed instructions visit the recipe card at the bottom of this post.

Hint: Don't skip the 2 hour refrigeration, it really helps the flavors fuse together, and I can confidently say, it makes the sauce ten times better.
Recipe variations and substitute ideas
Following is a list of variations and alternate ideas for substitutes that you could play with in this recipe:

- Add more smoke: Add a teaspoon of smoked paprika.
- Balance: Add a little apple cider vinegar.
- Try tomato paste for some more umami.
