This Halloween Jungle Juice recipe is so full of fruit juices and great tasting spirits soaked up by some delicious chopped fruit (which is also great to snack on - not too much though, you'll really get the party started then!)

There's no real hard and fast rule to Halloween Jungle Juice, I like to try to keep to a 1:4 ratio of liquor to fruit juices. So 1 part liquor, 4 parts fruit juice. Other than that, go wild with creativity!

Halloween Jungle Juice can also be known as Halloween Punch, a Halloween cocktail, hunch punch or even Halloween grog.

What makes this recipe so yummy

  • You can really dress up your table with Halloween decorations if you're throwing a Halloween party, or maybe trick or treating outside with some friends, sitting around a fire and having a good ol' time.
  • Choose your favorite spirits and favorite fruit juices. There's no hard rules here.
  • It's one of those perfect party drinks that everyone dives into. It's an easy way to make a fun drink.
  • The best part I think is the small pieces of fruit. If you eat the fresh fruits that will get you tipsy too as there is a high alcohol content. It gets soaked up.
  • Try adding to a drink dispenser for ease of pouring for your party guests.
  • It's a great way to serve a large group of people easily, so try it for your next Halloween party.

Groceries you'll need: Ingredients

Halloween Jungle Juice Ingredients needed.
  • Orange Juice
  • Mango Juice
  • Pineapple Juice
  • Vodka
  • Tequila
  • Triple Sec
  • Apple Slices
  • Strawberries, sliced
  • Maraschino Cherries

See recipe card at the bottom of this post for quantities.

Recipe walkthrough: Instructions

This is an overview of the recipe steps. For more detailed instructions visit the recipe card at the bottom of this post.

A large pitcher of jungle juice with fruit pieces in it.
  • Step 1: Add slow melting ice cubes to a large pitcher and add the chopped fruit.
  • Step 2: Add the spirits.
  • Step 3: Add the fruit juices.
  • Step 4: Using a long handled spoon give the pitcher a good stir.

Hint: If you are able, you could mix the fruit juices with the spirits in a large container with a lid and give it a good shake with a little ice to really mix it well before pouring into the pitcher.
Add a few drops of green food coloring for a green color.

Recipe variations and substitute ideas

  • Spirits - This is your preference. If you prefer the type that is bolder and stronger in flavor do that. Some Ideas for spirits:
    • Coconut rum
    • Apple cider
    • White Rum
    • Bottle of Gin
    • Bottle of Vodka
    • Bottle of Rum
    • Peach Schnapps
    • Blue Curacao
  • Fruit Juices - Any fruit juice is fine. You could even add some carbonation by using something like lemonade. Some ideas:
    • Pink Lemonade
    • Cranberry Juice
    • Hawaiian Punch
    • Grapefruit Juice
    • Kool Aid
    • Simple Syrup
    • Grape Juice
    • Ginger Ale
    • Club Soda
    • Lemon Juice
  • Fruits - any fruit is fine, so long as it's enjoyed by you and your guests. (Beware though, the fruits do soak up the alcohol so don't eat too much and not expect to be drunk). You could even add some gummy bears or gummy worms.
  • Garnish - anything goes here... I've even used plastic spiders for a spooky look!

You'll need a large pitcher, a long stemmed stirring spoon and some glasses (or even a mason jar or two). I have links in the recipe card below.

If you have one you could also use a large punch bowl or just a large bowl. Even add a little dry ice for added spookiness. Make sure it is all dissolved before trying to drink it though. Dry ice can be dangerous.

How to store leftovers

Due to the addition of ice it will be watered down pretty quickly. You'll want to try to get it served quickly enough for there not to be any left.

If you need to, remove the ice and reserve the Jungle Juice - in the refrigerator- for up to 4 days.

Mel's kitchen notes

Don't use expensive alcohol types in a jungle juice like this. It is wasted and the flavor will be taken away by all the fruit juices. The key to this Halloween cocktail is to be easy to drink, but effective in giving a little buzz.

Be careful. There's a reason that Jungle Juice is served a lot at college parties (yes, I have fond college memories). It can get you drunk fast. Be super careful how much you drink. It can sneak up on you.

Frequently asked questions: FAQs

Does Halloween Jungle Juice get you drunk?

In short - most definitely. It's famous for being able to get you quite tipsy in a short amount of time because of it being mixed with fruit juices you don't realize the amount of alcohol being consumed.

What's jungle juice made of?

A combination of fruit juices, liquor and chopped fruit. It's really tasty and does not taste like alcohol at all.
