What makes this recipe so yummy

  • It's easy, yet looks spectacular.
  • No cooking required (other than the crust).
  • It has Snickers bars in it, need I say any more? It's my favorite candy bar - as I'm sure it's yours if you're on this page.
  • It's a decadent dessert and a great make ahead dessert. It's great for a Birthday party.

Recipe walkthrough: Instructions

This is an overview of the recipe steps. For more detailed instructions visit the recipe card at the bottom of this post.

A collage of four images showing how to make a snickers bar pie.
  • Step 1: Add the Graham Cracker Crumbs, granulated sugar and melted butter to a small/medium mixing bowl and mix with a spoon.
  • Step 2: Press into a 9" pie dish, then bake for 10 minutes (optional - you could use a store bought crust if you prefer). Allow to cool.
  • Step 3: In the bowl of your stand mixer add the peanut butter, powdered sugar and cream cheese. Mix with the paddle attachment on medium speed until completely combined and creamy.
  • Step 4: Add the instant cheesecake pudding mix and mix again.

  • Step 5: Slowly pour in the heavy whipping cream, while mixing.
  • Step 6: Fold in half of the frozen whipped topping.
  • Step 7: Fold in the chopped Snickers Bars.
  • Step 8: Spoon into the prepared graham cracker crust and smooth out with an offset spatula. Refrigerate for 2 hours then remove and decorate with the remaining cool whip.

Hint: To make this a 100% no bake dessert use a store-bought pie crust. I like to use my own dish though, so prefer to make my crust (plus it's easy).

Recipe variations and substitute ideas

  • Caramel Sauce - drizzle some of this, or a chocolate syrup on top.
  • Chocolate Chips - scatter some of these on top.
  • Chunky Peanut Butter - try this instead of the creamy peanut butter.
  • Store-bought Crust - instead of making your own.
  • Chocolate Graham Cracker Crust - this is a great idea.
  • Melted Chocolate - Drizzle this over the top.
  • Oreo Pie Crusts - try this easy dessert recipe with an Oreo cookie crust.
  • Chopped Peanuts - scatter some crunchy peanuts over the top of the pie.
  • Chocolate Sauce - drizzle over the top.
  • Sour Cream - try this instead of the whipped topping in the pie.

Yes, I like to use my stand mixer for most of this recipe - it's my favorite equipment in my whole kitchen. You can use an electric mixer, hand mixer, if you don't have one. Or, last resort, mix by hand (if you have the muscle).

You'll also need a 9" pie dish, if you are making your own crust like me.

I have some affiliate links in the recipe card below for the equipment I use.

How to store leftovers

Once decorated this pie needs to be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator, for up to 5-7 days.

Mel's kitchen notes

When whipping up your topping add something to stabilize the cream so that it is not so quick to melt. E.g. add a spoon of meringue powder, or a spoon of vanilla pudding mix. It'll help keep your pie looking great for longer.

Frequently asked questions: FAQs

How Many Snickers Bars will I need?

I used about 15 fun size bars and chopped them in the food processor to make 1 cup of chopped snickers bars.

You say it's a no bake dessert, yet you do bake the crust. What's up?

I prefer to make my own crust, it fits in a pie dish better, it looks so much better than one of those foil dishes (which is better for photographing, obviously). Using a store-bought crust will make it 100% no bake.

Equipment

  • Stand Mixer
  • Glass Mixing Bowls
  • 9" Pie Dish
  • Ateco 1385 Offset Spatula with 4.5-Inch Stainless Steel Blade, Wood Handle, 4.5 Inch, natural

Ingredients

  • 1-½ Cups Graham Cracker Crumbs
  • ¼ Cup Granulated Sugar
  • 6 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter Melted
  • 1 (8 Ounce) Block Cream Cheese softened
  • 1 Cup Creamy Peanut Butter
  • ½ Cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1 (3.4 Ounce) Box Cheesecake Instant Pudding Mix
  • 1-½ Cups Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 8 Ounces Frozen Whipped Topping softened, divided
  • 1 Cup Snickers Bars + Extra to decorate

Instructions

  • Add the graham cracker crumbs, granulated sugar and melted butter to a small bowl and mix well using a spoon.
1-½ Cups Graham Cracker Crumbs, ¼ Cup Granulated Sugar, 6 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter
  • Press into a 9" round pie dish. Use your fingers or get some help using the back of a flat measuring cup.
  • Bake this crust for 10 minutes at 350°F, then remove and allow to cool.
  • Add the cream cheese, peanut butter and powdered sugar to the bowl of your stand mixer and beat until creamy and totally combined.
1 (8 Ounce) Block Cream Cheese, 1 Cup Creamy Peanut Butter, ½ Cup Powdered Sugar
  • Add the pudding mix and continue mixing.
1 (3.4 Ounce) Box Cheesecake Instant Pudding Mix
  • Slowly pour in the whipped cream while the mixer is on.
    1-½ Cups Heavy Whipping Cream
  • Add 4oz (half) of the whipped topping and fold in using a spatula.
    8 Ounces Frozen Whipped Topping
  • Fold in 1 cup of chopped Snickers Bar candy.
    1 Cup Snickers Bars
  • Spoon this mixture into the cooled pie crust and smooth out using an offset spatula. Cover with cling wrap and refrigerate for a minimum of 2 hours.
  • Remove the plastic wrap and decorate using the remaining frozen whipped topping and chopped Snickers Bars.
8 Ounces Frozen Whipped Topping, 1 Cup Snickers Bars

Notes

To make this a 100% no bake dessert use a store bought graham cracker crust. I like to make my own because it fits a pretty dish better, I don't like the foil dish, so if you're looking to impress I suggest making your graham cracker crust yourself.
I like to add the snickers bars to a food processor to get them nice and well chopped.

Snickers, peanut butter, and minimal baking?! Yes, please! Question for you...do you have any tips for making individual No Bake Snickers Pie minis? My daughter loves Snickers Pie and we were thinking about doing individual ones for her birthday party, but I'm a bit hesitant to tackle them. =\

Hi Brandi! What an excellent idea - yes, you could definitely make these in individual sizes. I would follow the same Snickers Pie recipe as above, just create individual pies in a cupcake pan instead (definitely use cupcake liners). All the steps would be the same. I'd love to hear how it goes - Take Pictures!

Oh, my goodness, this looks amazing! Do you use a deep dish pie pan for this Snickers Pie, or will a regular depth one work?

Thanks Rita, yes just a regular depth pie dish works perfectly.

Question. Any thoughts on making whip cream and folding it in instead of the cool whip? Omitting the heavy cream and cool whip. Just wondering about that and the instant pudding since I’m not a fan of using pudding or cool whip to the ingredients. Just my preference. I try to come up with ways to work around it in recipes I want to make. Thanks.

Hi Nikki, I can't say as I've not tried it that way. If you do try, please come back and let us know how it went?
